"I knew right away that I was going to paint a silly version of the tangled-up crow. Although I mostly create art that could be described as joyful, I gravitate towards sad music. I find Death Cab for Cutie’s devastating lyrics reassuring, perhaps because they give me a [tiny] vessel for my own melancholy indulgences."
